HURRICANE IDALIA – AUGUST 2023
Hurricane Idalia was a powerful and destructive Category 4 hurricane that caused significant damage across parts of the southeastern United States, especially in North Florida, in late August 2023. While weakening some at landfall to a Category 3 hurricane, Idalia still produced some of the most significant hurricane damage to the big bend area of Florida in modern history.
Macro stood ready to answer the call, quickly deploying for 10 clients with over 450 personnel and 324 fuel trucks in the field, as well as 43 potable water tankers. Over the course of three weeks, Macro responded to 130 missions for the State of Florida, dispensed nearly 600,000 gallons of fuel and delivered 258,000 gallons of water. Macro was tasked with delivering loads of gasoline to stations in the area and also dispensed fuel to local residents during the initial response phase.
